  சிலுவையில் அறையப்பட்ட மூன்றாம் நாள் இயேசு உயிர்த்தெழுந்தார் என்பது கிறிஸ்துவர்களின் நம்பிக்கை. அவரது சிந்தனைகளும் ஒழுக்கம் மற்றும் அறம் சார்ந்த வாழ்வியல் தத்துவங்களும்கூட அப்போதுதான் உயிர்த்தெழுந்ததாகக் கொள்ளவேண்டும். இயேசுவுக்குப் பிறகுதான், கிறிஸ்தவம் என்னும் புதிய மதக் கோட்பாடு தோன்றியது. மனித குமாரனாகவே தன்னை அறிவித்துக்கொண்ட இயேசு,தேவ குமாரனாக முன்னிறுத்தப்பட்டதும் அப்போதுதான்.

  இயேசுவின் வாழ்க்கையை ஒரு மாறுபட்ட கோணத்தில் விறுவிறுப்பாக மறுஅறிமுகம் செய்துவைக்கும் இந்நூல், அவர் வாழ்ந்த காலகட்டத்தையும் அப்போதைய அரசியல், சமூகப் பின்னணியையும் சேர்த்தே விவரிக்கிறது.

   

  Christ was neither the leader nor founder of a religion. He only took on himself the mission of reforming the lives of his own people, the Jews, during his life time. In a sense, he was a rebel and a revolutionary too. His message of love and peace must have echoed like that of a revolutionary in a society in which materialism and bourgeoisism were the order of the day. His commons sense was seen as anti-Jewish propagnda expressing disloyalty to the community and against the spirit of the time. It was because of this that the number of his opponents increased and he was finally crucified. It is the belief of Christians that Jesus resurrected on the third day after his crucifixion. We must take that as the resurrection of his thinking and moral philosophy also. Only afte Christ, the idea of Christianity came into existence as a new religious doctrine. Christ, who declared himself to be the son of man, was regarded as son of God only after the establishment of Christianity. This book which reintroduces the life of Christ in an interesting manner, analyses the political and social climate of his time also from a different angle.
